Financial Statement Audit Intern
McClintock & Associates is seeking a Financial Statement Audit Intern to join our growing team for Spring 2026. Responsibilities
The job responsibilities of the Financial Statement Audit Intern include, but are not limited to:
Accountability
- Assist with financial statement audits of higher-ed institutions by testing audit areas such as cash, prepaid expenses, and fixed assets
- Test accounts payable and accrued liabilities, leases and debt, and operating expenses
- Prepare audit workpapers, analyze supporting documentation, perform reconciliations, and document audit findings
- Participate in client meetings and calls, and communicate with client personnel to obtain support and ask questions
- Gain exposure to real audit planning and problem-solving discussions
- Develop a working knowledge of AI applications and their practical use in audit services
Leadership
- Demonstrates our core values
- Act as a client contact for general questions and information requests
Management
- Works closely with an assigned mentor, typically a Senior Accountant or Supervisor, and other members of the audit team in a collaborative environment throughout the internship
- Takes on more complex audit areas and responsibilities as experience and confidence grow
Location
- The Financial Statement Audit Intern position is in-office preferred, headquartered at 1370 Washington Pike, Bridgeville, PA
Qualifications
Required
- Currently enrolled in a bachelor’s degree program in accounting or a related field
- Available to work approximately 25 hours per week, January through April
Preferred
- Coursework in auditing or financial accounting
- Interest in pursuing a career in public accounting or audit
Compensation
Pay: $20 per hour
Academic Credit: Eligible for academic credit, in coordination with your school’s policies and requirements
